Leeds Festival is a rock music festival that is held annually in Leeds, England. The event takes place from Saturday to Sunday, August bank holiday weekend. It's held at Bramham Park, close to Wetherby, the historic house grounds. Campsites are available; weekend tickets include camping. Also, day tickets are sold.The festival is run by the Festival Republic, a UK music promoter founded in 1982 as Mean Fiddler Group by John Vincent Power, the Irish born chairman. For promotional purposes during 1998 to 2007, the festival was called the Carling Weekend: Leeds. The title was seldom used when not needed, although NME (New Musical Express) was contractually required to do it as part of being involved. The Leeds festival has the following stages:

• Lock Up Stage (Pit Stage) - Hardcore and underground acts. It's a 2-day stage.
• Dance Tent - Dance music acts. It used to share a stage together with Lock Up stage, but it is now a stand-alone three-day stage.
• NME/Radio 1 Stage - For less well-known acts gradually developing to an alternative headline act.
• Festival Republic Stage (formerly the Carling Stage) - Acts having less popular attraction and breakthrough acts.
• BBC Introducing Stage - Unsigned and not well-known acts
• Alternative Tent - Cabaret and comedy acts plus DJs.
• 1Xtra Stage - Stages Rap, Hip-Hop and RnB artists.
